Healthy Baked Banana Bread Donuts

Using everyday ingredients like oatmeal & bananas, it's easy to make these baked donuts!

  • Donut Pan


  • 2 1/2 cups rolled oats Finely ground in food processor to a flour consistency
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • pinch salt
  • 2 cups very ripe mashed bananas About 3 large bananas
  • 1/3 cup butter melted (you can also substitute coconut oil)
  • 1/3 cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips

Chocolate Glaze

  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips use a good quality brand (I like Enjoy Life)
  • 1 tsp coconut oil


  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a donut pan with butter or coconut oil and set aside.
  • Add rolled oats to food processor and pulse to a flour consistency.
  • In a medium sized bowl, whisk together oats, baking soda, cinnamon and salt. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl mash bananas with a potato masher or large fork.
  • Whisk in the remaining wet ingredients.
  • Slowly incorporate dry oat mixture.
  • Stir in chocolate chips
  • Add donut batter to either a piping bag fitted with a large tip or a large ziplock bag with a corner cut off.
  • Pipe donut batter into the cavities of the donut pan.
  • Bake donuts for 10 minutes until lightly golden and cooked through. Insert a cake tester or toothpick to ensure the donuts are cooked.
  • Allow donuts to cool in pan for 2 minutes and then transfer to a cooling rack to cool completely.

Chocolate Glaze

  • Melt chocolate chips and coconut oil in a microwave safe bowl in 30 second increments until melted through.
  • Once donuts are cool, dip or drizzle with chocolate glaze and enjoy!


Donuts can be stored in an airtight container for 3 days in the refrigerator.
